Interviewer: Good day! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to interview Jimena Iraheta, Project Manager for our San Salvador, El Salvador office.  Could you please introduce yourself and share a bit about your background in economic development?

Jimena: Thank you for having me. My name is Jimena, and I am a Project Manager specializing in economic development and policy implementation. I have been focusing specifically on initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and improving livelihoods worldwide. I am extremely proud to be part of a company that works extensively in El Salvador, my home country.

Interviewer: That’s impressive, Jimena, can you tell us about your current role and the specific projects or programs you are involved in to support economic development in El Salvador?

Jimena: Certainly. I currently work as a Project Manager and our most recent projects in El Salvador are designing and implementing various programs and policies to stimulate economic growth, reduce poverty, and enhance the competitiveness of our country.

One of the key projects we are involved in is the development of Foreign Direct Investment and, ultimately positioning the country as an attractive destination for their investments.

These are attractive incentives for domestic and foreign investors, creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. By attracting investments and promoting export-oriented industries, we aim to generate employment opportunities and boost the overall economy.

Interviewer: That sounds like impactful work, Jimena. Could you elaborate on some of the challenges you face in your role, particularly in the context of El Salvador’s economic landscape?

Jimena: Absolutely. Like any other country, El Salvador faces several challenges in its economic development journey. One of the significant challenges we encounter is the need to address income inequality, crime and promote inclusive growth. While we strive to attract foreign investment and promote business growth, it is essential to ensure that the benefits are widely distributed across different segments of society. We focus on implementing policies and programs that provide equal opportunities for all, including marginalized communities and rural areas.

Interviewer: It’s inspiring to hear about the steps you’re taking to address those challenges.

Jimena: While there is still much work to be done, these achievements inspire me to continue striving for inclusive and sustainable economic development.
