Consultancy for Review & Re-Design of Go-Invest´s Trade and Investment Framework in Guyana

The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana (GCRG), through the Ministry of Business, and supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is implementing a program for improving the National Quality Infrastructure in Guyana (NQI) in order to foster economic diversification and trade promotion.As part of this program, IOS Partners, Inc. was contracted to undertake a re-design of Guyana’s investment promotion agency Go-Invest, by reviewing its current institutional and operational model, in order to strengthen the agency, and therefore improve its ability to promote exports and attract foreign direct investment.

The specific objectives are:

  • To document best practices in trade and investment promotion;
  • To conduct a strategic planning exercise for Go-Invest, in line with the vision set forth by the Ministry of Business for the agency;
  • To assess Go-Invest’s organizational readiness to seize new opportunities delivered through strategy planning; and
  • To propose a renewed strategic and operational arrangement for the agency to increase its ability to serve its purpose.
